Family Fun Day at Golf Course Begins Sunday, September 17th
St. Augustine, Fla. (September 5, 2006) – Slammer & Squire at World Golf Village will host "Family Fun Day" this fall offering families an affordable golf experience on a championship golf course. The program, beginning September 17, will take place each Sunday through December 10.
Slammer & Squire invites family members of all ages to "Family Fun Day" to encourage spending quality time outdoors while fine-tuning their golf skills and sharing the sport with relatives. Families can enjoy nine holes of golf on Sundays after 3:30 p.m. through October 29 and after 2:30 p.m. through December 10. Tee times for a family two-some are $50 and $80 for three to five players. Each participant receives complimentary range balls and unlimited Coca-Cola beverages while on the course.
"We recognize the importance and greater potential of golf as a family activity," said Cathy Harbin, General Manager of the Slammer & Squire and King & Bear golf courses at World Golf Village. "We encourage families to embrace golf as an activity they can do together and hope ‘Family Fun Day’ will present the occasion to try it, or continue it if it is something they already enjoy."
Families who participate in Slammer & Squire’s "Family Fun Day" for five weeks will receive complimentary play for a sixth week. In addition, on select Sundays throughout the run of the program, Slammer & Squire will offer a nine-hole voluntary tournament with prizes as well as light hors d’oeuvres following play.
