PATTERSON, Calif. – The Northern California PGA is pleased to announce the 2006 Senior Northern California Open Championship, which will be held September 18-20 at Diablo Grande Resort in Patterson, Calif. Competition will take place on the Ranch Course and Legends West Course.
This 54-hole stroke play tournament will have a 36-hole cut to the low 70 percent of the professional field and ties, and the low 50 percent of the amateur field and ties. At the Senior NCO, three title winners will be recognized: a Senior Champion, a Senior Amateur Champion and a Super Senior Champion.
According to PGA Host Professional Shane Balfour, director of golf at Diablo Grande Resort, the championship is open to the public and spectators are welcome to join the gallery. "Every year the Senior Northern California Open is one of the most anticipated tournaments in Northern California," said Balfour. "And again, we look forward to hosting the championship at Diablo Grande Resort. We expect some strong competition amongst the players and for spectators who plan to attend, it will be an opportunity to view some solid golf performance."
The Senior Northern California Open Championship is conducted through the joint effort of the Northern California Golf Association and the Northern California PGA and is made possible through presenting sponsors Black Oak Casino, Nike Golf and Sundog Eyewear.
