Adams Golf wins fourth consecutive Nationwide Tour hybrid count
PLANO, TEXAS, September 12, 2006 -Adams Golf (OTCBB:ADGO) announces that the winner of last week’s Nationwide Tour event played four of its new Idea Pro hybrids. The Nationwide Tour veteran, on tour since 1991, claimed his first career victory with an impressive total score of 16 under par. Equally as impressive was his bag makeup for the tournament. He played four Idea Pro hybrids of 16, 18, 22 and 24-degree loft variations to go along with his regular irons.
With 52 of its hybrids in play, Adams Golf won the hybrid count for the fourth consecutive week on the Nationwide Tour, according to the Darrell Survey. It was also the eighth tournament in the last nine that Adams Golf claimed the #1 spot in the hybrid count. Currently, Adams Golf ranks second in the 2006 Nationwide Tour hybrid count, only 28 hybrids away from the top spot.
"With a performance like this one on the Nationwide Tour and the increasing number of hybrids being played on the PGA and Champions Tours, we’re witnessing a dramatic shift in how golfers set up their bags with hybrids integrated with irons," said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf CEO. "Last week’s Nationwide Tour winner replaced four of his long irons with our new Idea Pro hybrids and each week we see increasing numbers of the best golfers in the world putting more and more hybrids in their bags. As the leader in integrated hybrid irons sets, we believe that’s a sign of things to come for golfers of all skill levels."
PGA TOUR
Adams Golf claimed the second place position in the hybrid count at the Canadian Open, according to the Darrell Survey. With 365 of its hybrids in play on the PGA TOUR in 2006, Adams Golf has a firm hold as the #2 hybrid on tour. By adding the total hybrids played on the PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours this year, Adams Golf is #1 in the overall combined count.
