SHELTON, CONNECTICUT—High-end golf apparel leader Fairway & Greene has named apparel industry veteran Michael Stein as its new Senior Vice-President of Merchandising and Sourcing.
In his new role, Stein will lead Fairway & Greene’s merchandising, design and sourcing team from the company’s Shelton, Connecticut headquarters.
"Our design team has always been very strong, and the addition of Michael’s experience and design talent should make our great team the best in the industry," says Gill Broome, President of Northbridge Equity Partners, parent of Summit Golf Brands, which consists of Fairway & Greene and EP Pro. "Rest assured we will protect the design principles and values that make our company, brand and product what it has and will always be—the best."
Stein most recently led the growth of the Greg Norman apparel business and has enjoyed an extensive career in sportswear design and merchandising. Stein was also at the forefront of golf apparel’s technical revolution.
"Michael brings a wealth of experience and product knowledge to our already-outstanding design team, which will only make us a better company and a better partner with our customers," says Todd Martin, Fairway & Greene’s Executive Vice President. "Since day one, Fairway & Greene has always been focused on continually evolving into a better company, yet staying true to who we are and our heritage. Michael will be an instrumental part of that as we continue to grow and look to the future."
Fairway & Greene, along with EP Pro, were both recently named the Association of Golf Merchandisers’ top apparel vendors for men and women, respectively, for the fourth straight year in the AGM’s annual Member Survey. Stein’s appointment is another example of Fairway & Greene’s commitment to remain the No. 1-ranked men’s golf apparel brand. Stein will also provide additional emphasis on Fairway & Greene’s growing ladies fashions.
"I am thrilled, and humbled, that Fairway & Greene has chosen me to be a member of its team," Stein says. "The fact that the company has been selected by the AGM as the industry’s leader—in such a competitive industry, no less—for four consecutive years is quite a tribute to the hard-working Fairway & Greene team, and I look forward to being a part of the company going forward."
Founded in 1995, Fairway & Greene has rapidly grown to become one of the dominant players in the high-end golf apparel market. Each item is fashioned from the finest pure finish fabrics, long since abandoned by other makers due to rarity and cost, and each hand tailored with a care and quality that is uniquely Fairway & Greene. With an unparalleled emphasis on product quality and customer service, Fairway & Greene is specifically positioned to help PGA Professionals enhance their golf shop merchandise offerings.
