LAURINBURG, N.C., â?¦ Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced that, according to authoritative Darrell Survey results, the majority of pros depended on Golf Pride® grips at the 2006 Bell Canadian Open, played at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada.
The tournament, played September 7-10, featured Golf Pride grips on 1,868 (85.5 percent) clubs compared to just 316 (14.5 percent) clubs for all other competitors’ grips. Among the 156-player field, an impressive 137 (87.8 percent) chose the most used grip in golf for the majority of their irons while the Bell Canadian Open saw the field overwhelmingly choose Golf Pride on their woods, with 407 of 454 (89.6 percent) adorned with Golf Pride grips.
"It’s exciting, but not surprising, that Golf Pride grips continue to be the preferred golf grip among Tour professionals," said Dwight Miles, director of global sales and marketing for Eaton’s Golf Grip Division. " The performance of our grips has remained consistently strong at golf’s highest level."
