Digital Golf (www.DigitalGolf.tv) is pleased to announce it has formed a strategic partnership with Venus Golf and Debbie Steinbach to promote women’s golf. With the increased television viewership of the LPGA and the popularity of Michelle Wie, Annika Sorenstam, and Paula Creamer, the partnership will provide a new and dynamic platform to promote and enhance the visibility of women’s golf on the Internet.
Digital Golf is the premier online video source for golfers on the Web delivering exclusive content on golf courses, equipment and instruction, and provides an innovative platform for golfers to communicate and interact with players of all skill levels. Since its official launch in March 2006, Digital Golf has quickly emerged as the fastest growing interactive and online video Website for golfers.
Venus Golf is the leading authority on women’s golf and revolutionizes the way women learn to play by embracing the philosophy that women and men approach the game of golf in profoundly different ways. Venus Golf empowers women golfers by rejecting the "one size fits all" approach to golf and encourages instruction and participation from a woman’s perspective and uses fresh perspectives to teach the game.
"I have been promoting women’s golf for the past two decades, but with the emergence of Michelle Wie as an international phenomenon, now is the time for women’s golf to really take off," says Debbie Steinbach, President and CEO of Venus Golf. Ms. Steinbach is a former LPGA Tour player and is ranked as a "Top 50 Instructor" by Golf For Women Magazine. She has written the best-selling books "Venus on the Fairway" and "Venus on the Fringe", has produced a DVD instructional series, has been featured on television, radio and print, and is the creator of the "The Money Club."
In August 2006, the Digital Golf Website debuted video instructional tips showcasing Ms. Steinbach’s unique teaching philosophy for golfers of all skill levels. "Digital Golf has been a great partner for Venus Golf. We share the same philosophy about making golf entertaining and enjoyable for both sexes. I’ve been amazed at how popular the online video tips have been with both men and women. Distributing Venus Golf content on the Digital Golf Website has expanded our reach to a worldwide audience," says Ms. Steinbach.
Digital Golf will serve as the marketing and distribution platform for Venus Golf content, products and equipment, and will begin hosting and providing technical support to the Venus Golf Website in Fall 2006.
The co-founders of Digital Golf connected with Ms. Steinbach at a golf networking conference in 2005. "It was a natural fit from the beginning," says Nichole Neal Walker, Chairman and General Counsel of Digital Golf. Ms. Walker is also serving as Chief Operating Officer of Venus Golf and will be handling the company’s business and legal affairs.
"Debbie has such an incredible personality and is the ultimate golf insider who knows everyone in the golf industry. She is not just a strong spokesperson for women’s golf, but for the entire game. Her "outside-of-the-box" philosophy is amazing, and we at Digital Golf look forward to pursuing initiatives to attract and retain more men and women golfers," says Ms. Walker.
