My name is Dr Emily J Futch. I wanted to pass on to you that your ball, the Crystal Volvik White, and my 8 iron, and a decent swing and roll, just got me the first hole-in-one I have ever had!!! It was at Saddlebrook Golf Resort in Wesley Chapel, FL, late Friday afternoon, 9/15/06, on the 18th hole on the Palmer Course. It is a 109 yd par 3 over water, and onto a very difficult 2 level, rolling green. Pin was way back and there was some wind in your face. I hit the 8 iron to the mid-right side of the back part of the green on the 2nd level, and struck it pretty well. The Crystal landed about 15–20 feet or so from the cup and took the slope and was rolling towards the hole, and we all thought it had stopped about 4-5 feet from the hole (which couldn’t be seen due to the terraced green and swale on the back terrace). Three out of 4 of us got on the green, but the other 2 players were on the front part of the green, after hitting into the slope and both rolling back about 20 feet towards the water.
As we approached the back side of the green, I saw my ball, apparently very close to the cup, and it looked like it was embedded into the green, a plug, but when I got closer, there it was wedged between the pin and rim of the hole! Of course, after carefully removing the pin, the ball stayed in the hole.
You can’t imagine how long I’ve wanted a hole in one, and your ball helped me accomplish one of my dreams. I have been playing golf on and off since college–now over 30 years, much more the past few years and my handicap is a 10.7. PS I shot an 86 from the women’s tees at Saddlebrook.
I just wanted to tell you that I have been using the Crystal Volvik (white, although I often use one of your colored balls to putt) for the last 6 months or so. It is now the only ball I use. I love the distance and the feel, as well as the look of the ball. It also has a very good play life. I’ve given your balls as birthday and Christmas presents and fully intend to continue using your balls. I will also be on a mission now, post my hole-in-one, to make sure that everyone I know who knows anything about golf (or nothing for that matter) hears about my hole in one, with all of the details above!! (much to their dismay, to be sure)
