Golf and Sportswear Market Leader Brings Distinctive Flair with New Colors and Prints

(Vancouver, BC, Canada) – Popular golf and sportswear designer Linda Hipp announces that her company, LIJA, has created five vibrant collections for Spring 2007 showcasing innovative textures, superior styling, unique prints and functional fabrics across 296 pieces.

Inspired by fun, flirty and vivacious colors, the collections – entitled Sweet Like Sangria, All Over Olive, Dawn to Dusk, Green with Envy and Cherry on Top – feature tasteful, yet animated prints from plaids to mini rosebuds, and are enhanced with unique buttons, snaps and stitching.

The collections are accompanied by an expanded Accessories line of hats, belts, socks and bags to complete any wardrobe. More lifestyle pieces than ever before and increased sizing with the addition of XXL, 0 and 16, make this LIJA’s most extensive season to date.

"Inspired by vintage styling cleverly blended with modern fresh-off-the-runway looks, our Spring ’07 collections really reflect who LIJA is as a company – a lifestyle brand that brings unique styling to any woman’s wardrobe for golfers and non-golfers alike" says Hipp, company founder and principal designer. "With such broad appeal, each piece exudes the personality of those who wear it – whether it be preppy, fashion savvy, sporty, urban or classic."

Retailing from $30 for some t-shirts to $140 for cashmere sweaters, the collections are highlighted in a 62-page catalog that is currently available for retailers and media members.

LIJA is a staple in finer golf and non-golf retailers across North America, including world-renowned resorts like Pebble Beach, Doral, Kiawah Island and Kapalua. The company’s clothing is worn by scores of women’s golf professionals worldwide.

About the Collections

Sweet Like Sangriaâ?¦you can almost taste it. This holiday collection is a color delight with sangria – a rich maroon, like that of a cabernet grape – tart lemon, a "chocolate" cocoa and a hint of heather gray which can be found in an array of cashmere, cotton and wool sweaters – perfect for layering while sipping Sangria at the end of a long day.

Embrace Olive. It’s the color of choice and this trendy "urban" hue is the foundation of the All Over Olive collection. It has been softened with a lovely, intense shade of orchid and a playful sweetpea. With a wide variety of fabric and print options, you can "take it to the street" with simply olive and white or create a more feminine, cheerful statement by blending multiple colors.

Dawn to Dusk is simplicity at its best. Muted tones that are barely there – petal, cameo, dusk, café and white – make this the most delicate of LIJA’s Spring 2007 collections. Emphasizing femininity is easy with this softer palette of prints that includes argyle poplin, rosebud, voile, and "fanfare" knit polos.

57 pieces, ships Feb. 15, 2007

Green with Envy brings to mind pristine lawns, Adirondack chairs, croquet, hammocks and long summer days. This collection is crisp and sporty with very sharp contrasts of white and lawn and just a hint of sweetpea. An array of prints, sure to make you the envy of many, include Madras plaid, preppy stripes, polka dot voile and a fabulous surfer-like print, to name a few. Enter the world of a carefree life with Green with Envy.

65 pieces, ships Feb. 15, 2007

Cherry on Top is traditional yet very stylish – preppy is still the statement when blending fashion with sport. Navy, chambray, white and of course, cherry make this the cheeriest of the collections. Polos, plaids and stripes for both tops and bottoms, help to get in the summer swing.

61 pieces, ships March 15, 2007

About LIJA

LIJA has received significant recognition within and outside the golf industry, achieving organic annual sales growth of at least 50 percent each of the past seven years. Enjoying a rapidly expanding sales force and account base in North America, LIJA recently began selling into the UK, Australian and Japanese markets.

Individually, Hipp has been honored as a grant recipient of the Matinee Fashion Foundation Award, which annually recognizes and funds select Canadian designers, and voted a "40 Under 40" winner by Business in Vancouver.

Hipp, 39, previously worked as a business development executive for Vancouver’s Canucks (NHL) and Grizzlies (NBA). An avid and highly-skilled golfer, Hipp struggled to find on-course apparel that meshed with her off-course fashion sensibility. Recognizing a market opportunity – and the chance to combine her passions for fashion, golf and business – Hyp Golf was launched in July 1997. The company re-branded as LIJA in late 2004. Chiefly influenced by both European trends and West Coast style, Hipp has garnered a widespread reputation as one of North America’s hottest sportswear designers.
