Golf Made Simple Student Passes PAT and Becomes Instructor
Palm Coast, FL – Golf Made Simple is proud to announce that one of their former students has been hired as an instructor for their school in The Golf Club of North Hampton in Amelia Island, FL. It was just over two years ago that Jeff Seigler took his first Golf Made Simple lesson because he was struggling to pass his Player Ability Test (PAT), one of the first steps to becoming a PGA pro. Following his lesson with Golf Made Simple, Seigler reevaluated his golf strategy, built up his confidence, and then applied the new techniques to his game. Crediting what he learned at Golf Made Simple for much of his success, Seigler recently passed his PAT and has now returned to his golf alma-mater to teach.
"I’m honored to have the opportunity to teach for Golf Made Simple," says Seigler. "Golf Made Simple helped me to become the player I am today."
The road to great golf was a long and challenging one for Seigler; he failed to pass the test several times. He struggled to manage his nerves, adapt to bad weather, and overcome a series of untimely shots. The PGA hopeful just kept coming up short and couldn’t bring his game to the next level. Seigler enrolled in a Golf Made Simple class, and learned a few key lessons that would eventually lead him to successfully passing the PAT test. "Golf Made Simple taught me how to feel the pace of my swing by repeating the simple phrase ‘Tick Toc’ out loud. My mental game was also really holding me back. I had learned so many different tips and techniques. I needed a reboot, and to get back to basics and clear my head. Golf Made Simple helped to bring out my natural talent by erasing my (swing) thoughts," jokes Seigler.
"We’re so pleased to have Jeff join our team, " says PGA Professional and Golf Made Simple founder, Marc Solomon. "We taught Jeff how to play tournament-tough golf, and now Jeff can pass that knowledge onto his own students. He had the skills and talent in him, he just needed a leg up on the competition. Because he understands the struggles of a typical golfer, Seigler will be a great instructor. He’s good, and he ‘gets it.’ He’s like a golfer’s golfer," laughs Solomon.
Golf was something Seigler has liked since he was a teen, although he didn’t take lessons or play competitively until much later in life. Seigler got more serious about his game in the mid-90’s while stationed as a US Marine in London. When his duties serving for the military ended in 1998, Seigler had to figure out what he was going to do with his life. The choices were working in the field of security, or doing what he loved to do, golf. The choice became obvious for Seigler, and he set his sights toward the links.
"I think that it’s great what Marc Solomon and Golf Made Simple does," says Seigler. "Golf Made Simple teaches the game in such a simple, no frills approach that it really worked for me. They broke through to me when I was frustrated at one of the most important times in my golf career."
After taking lessons at Golf Made Simple, Seigler would religiously read Marc Solomon’s weekly newsletter, Golf Improvement Weekly. When Seigler noticed that Golf Made Simple was looking for a new instructor, he jumped at the opportunity to work for his former teacher. "Having a former student become a teacher is an amazing. I’m so proud," comments Solomon. "The proof is in the putting!"
