Wins For The Fourth Time In 2006
MORELIA, Mexico (October 9, 2006) – The LPGA’s leading money winner used a Sonartec Md hybrid to win The Corona Morelia Championship. The champion has 4 wins on Tour this year (all with Sonartec in her bag) and became only the second player in LPGA history to surpass $2 Million in official prize money. "For me it’s like a US Open, being able to play in my country and win in front of my people," said the champion as she hoisted the trophy in front of the people of Mexico for the first time in her career.
This win marks the second Tour win in as many weeks for the Carlsbad-based company. Last week the PGA Tour champion used a GS Tour fairway metal to win the Southern Farm Bureau Classic wire to wire. "We are very proud to be able to provide the tools for these very talented athletes," said Toru Kamatari, President of Sonartec. "Our mission is, and will continue to be, to produce only the finest golf equipment possible. Hybrids, fairway metals, and our new t-35 wedges all meet the strict performance criteria that we established six years ago. These standards produce the consistent ball flight that professionals and recreational golfers have come to expect in a Sonartec product," said Kamatari.
Sonartec is a Carlsbad-based pioneer in the fairway metal and hybrid market, and has recently introduced the classic forged t35 model wedge with Yoyo Groovesâ?¢. Their innovative Driving Cavity technology produces extremely forgiving, high performance equipment designed for golfers of all skill levels including women and seniors. In less than six years the company has recorded more than 89 worldwide wins, including two British Opens. For more information on Sonartec and Trion:Z products, please visit www.sonartec.com.
