PACOIMA, Calif. — Creative design and advanced shaft engineering overcame wet playing conditions and veteran competition this weekend as Harrison Impulse Hybrid shafts delivered two Top 10 positions, including a win at the SAS Championship in Cary, North Carolina.
The year’s champion trusted the new Harrison Impulse Hybrid utility shaft in his 3- and 4-iron to hit 27 of 30 fairways (90%) and 33 of 36 greens in regulation (91.7%) and win the SAS Championship. In addition to the victory, Harrison’s Impulse Hybrid shaft captured a second Top 10 money position as earned a sixth-place tie playing Impulse Hybrid Utility shaft in his 3-, 4- and 5-irons.
"It was a great, winning week for Harrison Sports," says Cory Roberts, tour representative for Harrison. "Playing through very wet conditions, the champion used his hybrid clubs with Impulse shafts for hitting approach shots to most par 4’s and par 3’s. He was 10-under-par after three rounds, so it obviously paid off."
The Impulse Hybrid is a particularly unique design that incorporates a patent-pending Inlay Titanium Matrix — a thin layer of titanium wrapped around the shaft’s tip section that increases stability, reduces shaft torque and improves accuracy. Typically, hybrid-design clubs must withstand greater stress at impact due to turf contact, so enhanced stability is a critical design factor that allows the Impulse shaft to resist distortion upon impact. Impulse shafts are available as a Fairway Wood or Utility Iron.
