FSGA Winters Series Schedule Released

TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida State Golf Association is now accepting entries for the 2006-2007 Winter Series events online at www.fsga.org.

The events include eight competitions, five individual events and three four-ball events. There will be three age divisions, Mid-Senior (40-54), Senior (55-64) and Super Senior (65 & over). There is only gross scoring (no net division). However, each age division will be flighted after the first round.

The Winter Series is a great opportunity for golfers of all levels to compete in competitive events that normally may not because they do not live in Florida year round. To enter one or more of the Winter Series events, please visit www.fsga.org.

The schedule is as follows:

INDIVIDUAL EVENTS

December 6-7, 2006, entries close November 20

PGA Golf Club, Port St. Lucie

January 22-23, 2007, entries close January 8

Hunter’s Green CC, Tampa

February 18-19, entries close February 5

MetroWest Golf Club, Orlando

March 19-20, entries close March 5

Victoria Hills Golf Club, DeLand

CHAMPIONSHIP

April 1-3, entries close March 16

The Majors Golf Club, Palm Bay

FOUR-BALL EVENTS

January 8-9, 2007, entries close December 25

CC of Deer Run, Casselberry

February 5-6, entries close January 22

Country Club of Ocala, Ocala

March 5-6, entries close February 19

Dunedin Country Club, Dunedin

Organized in 1913, the Florida State Golf Association is a not-for-profit organization that governs amateur golf in the state of Florida. In addition to conducting 22 championships for amateur golfers in the state, the FSGA is responsible for more than 40 qualifying tournaments for USGA National Championships and the Florida Junior Tour. The FSGA also maintains the USGA Handicap System, performs course ratings throughout Florida and assists in junior programs and scholarships.
