Nationwide Women’s Golf Association Promotes Golf Industry Veteran

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, October 16, 2006 Trish Davis has been named Chief Operating Officer for the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA). Previously director of chapter and member services and most recently director of chapter development for this nationwide women’s golf association, she will now oversee chapter development, chapter and member services and marketing communications.

"Trish’s breadth of industry experience and long term service to the association make her uniquely qualified for this expanded leadership role," says Pam Swensen, Chief Executive Officer of the EWGA. "She heads a dedicated team focused on serving the needs of our members and our growing organization."

Prior to joining the EWGA staff in December 1999, Davis spent 12 years at the National Golf Foundation, serving in management roles in member sales and service, communications and media relations. While at the NGF, she served on the EWGA Advisory Board when the EWGA began in 1991. She has a degree from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla., and attended graduate school at Barry University in Miami, Fla. Originally from New Jersey, she now lives in Jupiter, Florida with her 14 year old son.

"The past 15 years have been remarkable in terms of women’s growing involvement in the sport of golf and in the increased acceptance of women as important customers by the golf industry. The EWGA has helped drive this change and its growth is indicative of its success," says Davis. "I’ve had the unique opportunity to be involved since the beginning, and look forward to helping lead the EWGA as we continue our efforts to introduce more women to the many benefits of golf through the fun and friendship that is the EWGA experience."

Since the EWGA started in 1991, more than 80,000 women have benefited from membership in the organization which is dedicated to providing opportunities to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life. There are currently 120 chapters throughout the United States and Canada. The chapters provide a wide range of golf, social and networking activities for both new and experienced golfers.

Celebrating its 15th Anniversary in 2006, the EWGA is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. For more information about the association and its membership, visit www.ewga.com.
