Former Pub Links Champ Locks Up 2007 PGA TOUR Playing Privileges With Wire-to-Wire Win in Texas
Covington, Ga. — Nationwide Tour rising star and Bridgestone Tour team member Brandt Snedeker used the Bridgestone B330-S for key shot-making and clutch putting down the stretch at the 2006 Permian Basic Charity Golf Classic on Sunday to record a final round 69, sending him to a Sudden Death playoff with Aron Price. In what was to eventually become his second Nationwide Tour victory of this season, the former U.S. Public Links Champ birdied the 72nd hole to force extra golf. Utilizing the incredible distance and feel of the B330-S Snedeker secured the win with a 15-foot birdie on the first playoff hole.
With the victory and the $85,500 first prize, Snedeker jumped into 8th place on the 2006 Nationwide Money List, virtually securing his PGA TOUR card for 2007.
"Brandt definitely has a flair for the dramatic," said Todd Corum, Developmental Tours Representative – Bridgestone Golf, Inc. "This is his second OT win of 2006 and in both wins he needed to make a birdie or eagle on the 72nd hole to get in to the playoff. Talk about a clutch performer."
In addition to Snedeker’s wire-to-wire victory, Bridgestone Golf staff player Matt Kuchar used a final round 70 to secure a T4 finish at the Permian Basin Charity Golf Classic, solidifying his current 15th place on the Nationwide Tour Money List, moving him one step closer to a return to the PGA TOUR in 2007. Kuchar also relies on the Bridgestone Tour B330-S. The Bridgestone Tour B330-S features a street price of $40 per dozen and is currently available at golf specialty stores and green grass retailers nationwide.
