FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 1 Hybrid graphite shaft on the LPGA Tour, the IROD® Hybrid by United Sports Technologies (UST®) outperformed the competition and delivered the win this weekend at the Samsung World Championship.

Among the world’s Top 20 players which converged at the BIGHORN Golf Club in Palm Desert, Calif., the winner of the Samsung World Championship played a Sonartec MD hybrid club custom-fit with an IROD® Hybrid shaft and scored a tournament-low seven-under par 65 Sunday to edge the defending champion by two strokes.

"Often called the fifth major of the LPGA Tour, the World Championship has become the definitive championship to decide the world’s best woman golfer, and we’re very pleased to see our IROD Hybrid deliver its second winning performance in back-to-back weeks," says Gene Simpson, vice president of sales and marketing for UST.

Revolutionizing shaft performance on pro tours, UST’s IROD Hybrid shafts feature Å’Interlinked Carbon’ technology which is specially designed to optimize performance with hybrid clubs and deliver the ultimate stability, consistency and launch performance.

Both the award-wining IROD and UST’s newest hybrid design – Proforce V2 Hybrid – are specifically designed to perform with hybrid clubs, and more players are benefiting from playing shafts featuring true hybrid technology. The Proforce V2 Hybrid, for example, features a unique graphite fiber orientation in the mid- and butt-sections that helps the shaft recover faster than ever when loaded or flexed. Combining the unique fiber configuration with lower torque engineering and enhanced flexibility, the V2 Hybrid provides exceptional stability and consistency, and balances the tip section to launch the ball higher with increased ball speed, while the optimized torque reduces spin for superior control.
