PLANO, TEXAS, October 17, 2006 – As the end of the 2006 tour schedule is in sight for the PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours, the final tabulation for equipment usage on tour is becoming clear. Adams Golf (OTCBB:ADGO) is the outright leader in the combined hybrid count for the three top U.S. men’s professional golf tours. According to the most rece Darrell Survey data, 2,875 Adams Golf hybrids have been played so far on the three tours, combined in 2006. The next closest competitor’s hybrids account for 2,203.
"It really came down to a two horse race in the hybrid category this year on the men’s tours," said Max Puglielli, Adams Golf Director of Tour Operations. "Most of the time it was 10 different manufacturers pushing their new hybrids at each tournament and fortunately we were able to establish ours as the #1 choice of the Champions and Nationwide Tour players. We also reached a new level of success on the PGA TOUR this year by having the #2 most-preferred hybrid of those elite players. It’s all a testament to the performance of our products. These players demand the very best and if you don’t provide them with something that can provide them an edge, they just won’t play your product. It’s that simple."
Champions Tour
– The Administaff Small Business Classic was the 28th consecutive Champions Tour event that Adams Golf claimed the #1 spot in both the hybrid and fairway wood count.
– It was the 17th tournament of the year that Adams Golf finished in the top spot of the overall wood count.
Nationwide Tour
– Adams Golf solidified its position as the #1 hybrid on the Nationwide Tour by winning the hybrid count last week at the Permian Basin Charity Classic.
– This was the eighth straight Nationwide Tour event that Adams Golf topped the hybrid count.
– With 24.7% of the total fairway woods in play, Adams Golf claimed the #1 position in the fairway wood count.
