Cyberstar Nanospeed Irons by YONEX

October 19, 2006

New for 2007

October 16, 2006 – YONEX Corporation has introduced the Cyberstar Nanospeed Irons, a new addition to the already successful Cyberstar line of products. Building on the "Tour Proven" success of both the Cyberstar VX Irons and the Cyberstar Nanospeed Driver, YONEX has taken its expertise in graphite technology to a whole new level with the launch of these new irons. Suggested retail price for #3 through PW is $1,260.00.

The Cyberstar Nanospeed multi-material irons are equipped with Elastomer, a rubber-like material, which is sandwiched between two graphite plates behind an ultra thin stainless steel face. The combination of graphite and Elastomer increases the repulsion power (spring like face) at impact without sacrificing feel and workability.

The Cyberstar Nanospeed Irons have been divided into three variations – long, mid and short. Each clubhead design is unique in order to maximize performance and playability throughout the set

â?¢ Long Irons (#3-#5) feature a hollow head design to produce a high launch distance iron with ultimate distance and forgiveness on off-center hits and a more consistent trajectory. An Elastomer and graphite hollow head construction, behind a thin steel face, filter any unwanted vibrations for optimum feel while maximizing distance.

â?¢ Mid Irons (#6-#9) feature a cavity back design for unmatched distance control, shot making precision and forgiveness. The Elastomer and graphite head construction dampens any unwanted shock for enhanced feel.

â?¢ Short Irons (PW, AW, SW) feature a half cavity blade like head for softer landing approach shots with unmatched spin performance, forged iron type balance and feel for "pin-point" accuracy.

As with the other Cyberstar clubs, YONEX uses the proprietary Nanospeed Shafts with Fullerene (nano carbon) to reduce the thickness of the shaft wall by 5%, making the shaft lighter but also more stable than a conventional graphite shaft. The addition of Elastic Ti in the kick point of the shaft provides increased energy transfer for unmatched power and lightning quick club head speed. The reduced shaft weight and additional snap back energy from the addition of Dual Nanoscience Technology will generate an increase in club head speed of up to 5mph, resulting in shots up to 20 yards longer than conventional titanium and steel head fairway woods.

YONEX is a successful global company with corporate headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, and U.S. headquarters in Torrance, California. The YONEX golf division manufactures and distributes worldwide a complete line of drivers, fairway woods, irons, hybrids, wedges, putters and accessories.
