PACOIMA, Calif. — Providing extreme shot performance and accuracy on pro tours, Harrison shafts delivered Top Five finishes at the Frys.com Open this weekend on the PGA Tour as well as the Administaff Small Business Classic on the Champions Tour. Overall, three different Harrison models were played by pros on the two tours to win five money positions.
On the PGA Tour, the Harrison Impulse hybrid shaft was played by a two-time U.S. Open champion, who has finished in the Top 5 two out of past three weeks. Meanwhile, Harrison shafts lit up the Top 10 money positions on the Champions Tour with a Harrison Pro 2.5 shaft in fifth-place; Harrison Impulse hybrid shafts grabbing a seventh- and 10th-place positions; and the Harrison Striper Tour shaft edging in another T10 position.
"The Impulse Hybrid shaft is quickly gaining notoriety on the pro tours for its consistence and accuracy, and every week more players are trying it out on the practice ranges of both the PGA and Champions Tours," says Mike Cheng, president of Harrison Sports. "Unlike any other shaft on the market today, the Impulse hybrid shaft incorporates a patent-pending Inlay Titanium Matrix, which is a thin layer of titanium wrapped around the shaft’s tip section. The result is a reduction in shaft torque and an increase in stability and accuracy."
Typically, hybrid-design clubs must withstand greater stress at impact due to turf contact, so enhanced stability is a critical design factor that allows the Impulse shaft to resist distortion upon impact. The Impulse’s Inlay Titanium Matrix provides the extra stability and, therefore, reduces torque and increases shot reliability and accuracy.
In addition, Impulse shafts possess a lower balance point and produce a higher launch angle to make it easier to get the ball up into the air. Impulse shafts are available as a Fairway Wood or Utility Iron.
