LPGA Commissioner To Speak at EWGA Annual Conference

Nationwide Women’s Golf Association Celebrates 15th Anniversary at PGA National

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, October 23, 2006 – Carolyn Bivens, the Commissioner of the LPGA, will speak at the Saturday evening awards dinner that concludes the annual conference of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) being held November 2 through 4 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens.

Celebrating this nationwide women’s golf association’s 15th anniversary, the EWGA conference will attract over 400 members and guests from throughout the country and the golf industry for three packed days and nights of leadership sessions, golf events, equipment demonstrations, merchandise displays and other festivities.

"On the night that we recognize achievement within the EWGA, how appropriate to have the first woman LPGA Commissioner as our keynote speaker," says Pam Swensen, the association’s CEO. "We are honored that she can join us as we salute our Chapters of Excellence and other award recipients who are leaders within the EWGA."

Bivens was named the LPGA Commissioner in 2005, the first female to hold the position in the now 56-year history of the LPGA Tour. She is the former President and CEO of Initiative Media North America, the largest media services agency in the United States and was previously associate publisher of USA Today.

Previously announced, M.G. Orender, honorary president of the PGA of America will be honored on Thursday evening with the 2006 Leadership Award, recognizing longtime and outstanding contributions to women’s golf. Other highlights of the EWGA conference include a session led by Cindy Miller of Big Break III fame and Golf Fest with hands-on equipment demos by Callaway, Nike, Wilson, TaylorMade, Ping, Adidas, Aldila, SMT and others.

Since the EWGA started in 1991, more than 80,000 women have benefited from membership in the organization which is dedicated to providing opportunities to learn, play and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life. The 120 EWGA chapters throughout the United States and into Canada offer a wide range of golf, social and networking activities for both new and experienced golfers.
