On the PGA TOUR…at the Funai Classic at DisneyWorld…Cleveland Golf staffer Joe Durant earned his fourth career TOUR victory and his first win since March of 2001. The victory earned him $828,000 — which is the biggest check of his career — and put an end to his five-year winless streak on the PGA TOUR. Durant is one of the premier ball-strikers in the game but is a streaky putter who is ranked T133rd in putting for 2006. Durant found his stroke this week finishing the tournament ranked 1st in putts per GIR at 1.1603 and T4th in putts per round with a total average of 27 putts per round. Durant used a Launcher 460 Comp (9.5º), TA7 irons (4-PW), a TA5 #3 iron, a 588 SW (54º), a CG10 LW (60º), and a Never Compromise Milled Series putter (custom). Durant kept cool under the collar while draining those putts wearing FIDRA apparel. Congratulations Joe!
On the Nationwide Tour…at the PalmettoPride Classic…Cleveland Staffer Ken Duke lost a hard-fought battle when he missed a 10-footer for birdie on the first playoff hole of the tournament Sunday. Duke, who is currently ranked No. 1 on the Nationwide money list, finished regulation tied at 12-under 276. Duke used a HiBORE (10.5), CG4 irons (3-PW), CG10 wedges (52º & 58º) and a Never Compromise Milled Series putter (#5).
On the Champions Tour…at the AT&T Championship…Cleveland Golf won the Sand, Lob & Approach Wedge Count with 52 wedges and the All Wedge Count with 59 wedges.
