Monterey, CA – October 26, 2006 – Yohann Benson, the 24 year old professional golfer from Pincourt, Quebec continued to advance his career by finishing 4th in the Canadian PGA Tour Fall Qualifying School at the Toronto event to earn his playing card. He has been using the Feel Golf Competitor Gun Metal Irons and wedges for three years now and attributes much of his success to the quality of his clubs.
Benson turned professional in 2005 after a short but brilliant career as a Canadian amateur. He was named "Top Canadian Amateur Player" in 2004 after winning numerous amateur events. In 2005 he not only won on the Tarheel Tour, but was named "Rookie of the Year." This is just a brief insight into Benson, for not only is he charismatic with a great Tour future, but is a very polite young man.
In his first year on Tour his 2005 scoring average was a very respectable 70.8 along with a driving average of 290.7.
Benson comments are, "I liked the Feel Irons and wedges the first time I saw them being used by other players. The classic look, the "feel," they are just simply amazing. You would think by looking at them, that the blades might be hard to hit, but they are not. They are just so consistent, and the distance control is better than any club made. It is rare to find an iron set that you can hit the same club the same distance every time. With my Feel Competitors, I can. With other brands, there can be a ten yard variable. Not with these. I think these are the best irons out there." Benson carries the 4-9 irons, and finishes off his set with the Feel 46(PW), 52, 56, and 60 degree wedges.
Lee Miller, CEO of Feel Golf met Yohann at the PGA Show several years ago after Yohann’s friend, introduced him to the clubs. "Yohann knows he could make some money off playing the other brands that pay to play, but with our clubs, he is letting his golf game do the talking. He placed 5th in GIR this year, and that says a lot about his play, and our clubs. This young man can really play and we are very pleased to have him as one of our players."
The Competitor Irons are a classically designed "muscle back" blade made from a proprietary blend of differing metals that produce a controllable ball flight, a very soft feel, and exceptional distance control and forgiveness. Using a proprietary pressure casting method, these clubs have a consistency not found in most clubs and can be adjusted easily for loft and lie.
