Miami, Florida (April 24, 2006)- GolfSurfin.com interviewed over 20 Membership Sales professionals actively employed within private, semi-private, resort club/golf club marketplace to help employers determine how to hire, train and motivate Membership Sales Managers. The interviewees are located throughout the US and have anywhere from 1.5-20 years of Membership Sales experience.
"Finding a qualified Membership Sales Director is crucial to the success of any private/semi private club. Good membership salespeople are hard to find and even harder to keep. The objective of this survey is to assist club management with uncovering qualified candidates, keeping them motivated once hired and avoid wasting time and money with "high turnover" typically associated with this position," says Dawn Schlesinger, President, GolfSurfin.com.
A series of questions were asked to uncover how the employer should conduct an interview, how to get a new hire up and running quickly and finally, how to motivate the membership salesperson to recruit new members and retain existing ones. Additionally, participants were asked how best to obtain referrals from existing members.
