ALBANY, GA, October 30, 2006- MacGregor Golf Company continued to make headlines today with the announcement that Robert Johnson has been appointed as Vice President of Marketing, North America. This move follows last week’s announcement that MacGregor Golf agreed to purchase the Greg Norman Collection (GNC) apparel business from adidas AG, and that Greg Norman would become a significant minority owner in MacGregor Golf.
Robert Johnson joins MacGregor with broad marketing experience having worked with world-class brands such as Microsoft, IBM, adidas, and American Express. For the past 4 years, Robert was the Director of Marketing for Taylor Made – adidas Golf (TMAG). During his tenure at TMAG, Rob was responsible for overseeing strategic and regional execution of all US Marketing departments: Advertising, Public Relations, E-Marketing, Events, Partnerships & Promotions, Retail Marketing and In-Store/POS materials. Robert also worked in the golf industry with Never Compromise Putters as Director of Marketing from 1999-2000.
