Mesquite, Nevada, October 28, 2006: SMT Golf, the winningest component head in the history of golf, has added to its previous RE/MAX Long Drive World Championships with its 6th World Championship in the Ladies Division. Phillis Meti from New Zealand hitting the SMT 455 Deep Bore, out-drove her closest competitor by almost 40 yards with a 327-yard drive.

In addition to the World Championship Title, SMT and Kevin Wolfe also captured a Third Place tie in the Senior Division hitting the SMT Spectrum 345 yards and a Fourth-place finish by Gary Ramirez who hit 342 yards with the SMT 455 Deep bore. In the Super Senior Division, SMT products tied for 3rd, when Fred Hooter who hit 335-yard drive with the 455 Deep Bore couldn’t quite advance into the finals.

According to Mike Tait, President of SMT Golf, ‘Phillis’ win in the Ladies Division was a great win for us and for Phillis. This was the only division that we hadn’t captured, and it was such a pleasure to see Phillis totally dominate the field. We are now the very first clubhead company, OEM or component to win every single division in the history of the sport, and we accomplished this feat in less than 5 years. It was great to see so much of the field hitting the SMT products. Impressive statistics for me was that with all of the competitors here playing the SMT product, none were paid to use the SMT brand and we experienced no equipment failure. Not one club head broke during the week. These athletes can really pound the ball and it is a testament to our focus on quality that our players did not have to deal with any breakage issues. ‘

SMT Golf is the Winningest Component Company in The History of Golf with 6 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships and hundreds of individual and LDA Tour Victories.
