Louisville, KY — The Professional CLUBMAKERS’ Society, an international, independent association headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky whose mission is to foster, promote, and elevate the art of professional golf club fitting and repair, will lose a loyal and trusted friend as Bob Dodds, executive technical director, is stepping down from the position he’s held for 9 years effective December 29.
Barry J. Palm, PCS Executive Director, said, "I wish Bob well in his retirement as he has become a friend and mentor to me personally. His expertise in clubmaking and fitting is unparalleled in the game, and his tireless work and contributions on behalf of the Professional CLUBMAKERS’ Society is without equal. When people in golf think of the PCS, they often think of Bob Dodds. Our entire membership is indebted to him for his service." Dodds is widely known in golf equipment circles as a pre-eminent authority on clubmaking and repair. He holds the distinction of Advanced Professional "Class A" Clubmaker.
Dodds said, "My nine years with the PCS have been extremely rewarding and my relationship with clubmakers and others in golf is very special to me. The PCS is positioned to grow, and I’m leaving it in good shape."
Jerry Hoefling, Jr., will succeed Dodds as director of technical services. He holds the distinction as Professional "Class A" Clubmaker and is the youngest PCS member to attain that prestigious certification. Prior to joining the PCS, Hoefling was a club builder at Hot Stix in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Founded in 1989, the Professional CLUBMAKERS’ Society is a global non-profit association of 1,100 professional golf clubmakers involved in fitting and repair and promoting golf clubmaking.
