The hole-in-one occurred during a special event as the Highland County Club Ladies Golf Association played against the Highland Springs Village Ladies. The two neighboring communities play their event 9 holes at a time in two locations. The winning shot was taken on the 100 yard par 3 hole number 8 at Highland Springs Country Club and netted sixty-four dollars to the lucky winner! Gayle, lucky again, escaped having to buy drinks for the group but said, "I’m planning to bring champagne to the next meeting."
Of the event Gayle said, "The girls said it was rolling toward the hole and I spotted it and thought it would stop short, but I got to watch it roll right in. What made it so much fun was that the other three girls in my group where as excited as I was." Gayle also shared that she has tried some of the imitators of the market leading Volvik Crystal ball.
