High-Tech Instruction Offered at GolfTEC Improvement Center in New Fox Valley Golfsmith Retail Outlet
AURORA, Illinois (November 6, 2006) – The Fox Valley community’s first state-of-the-art GolfTEC Improvement Center is set to open Friday, Nov. 17 in the new Golfsmith retail store at 4302 E. New York Avenue in this booming suburb west of Chicago.
Golfers and other interested parties are invited to a special GolfTEC Fox Valley Grand Opening celebration from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6. Guests will be able to get free demonstrations of GolfTEC teaching technology, door prizes, refreshments, and specially-priced lesson packages.
"We at GolfTEC are thrilled to be able to bring our state-of-the-art teaching technology to the Fox Valley and we can’t wait to share these wonderful learning tools with new and experienced golfers alike," said Erik Anderson, manager of GolfTEC Fox Valley.
At the new facility GolfTEC’s staff of certified personal coaches will provide golfers of all skill levels with the opportunity to improve their games utilizing the company’s hallmark high-tech instructional tools, such as video, impact analysis, biofeedback, and motion evaluation computers. By combining a proven and personalized teaching approach with superior technology, GolfTEC delivers players a swing they can trust. And with a controlled, indoor teaching environment, it’s easy to improve during Chicagoland’s winter off-season months.
"State-of-the-art technology is the foundation of our approach to golf instruction," Anderson said. "The traditional golf lesson is given by an instructor who relies primarily on his own eyes to detect swing flaws. The GolfTEC method relies on objective facts recorded by patented, sophisticated high-tech equipment along with analysis by PGA golf professionals."
The Fox Valley learning center is GolfTEC’s seventh in the Chicago area.
During a GolfTEC lesson, the student wears small sensors that measure key movements throughout the golf swing. The GolfTEC instructor analyzes this information and compares it to a database of top PGA TOUR players. The student receives instant feedback that identifies his or her ideal swing parameters. Video and audio highlights of the lesson are posted on GolfTEC’s website and may be accessed by the student at any time. GolfTEC professionals also provide specific follow-up drills to the student in an effort to further ingrain the suggested swing improvements.
"Golfers love the GolfTEC system because it’s so easy to visualize and understand what needs to be improved," Anderson said. "They also enjoy the flexibility of our lessons – because we operate in indoor facilities, weather and darkness don’t affect when students can get instruction from one of our pros.
"With our system, improvement time is reduced dramatically so students can see their scores drop quickly," Anderson said. "And our online component enables students to access their video footage and practice techniques from home, work or on the road."
GolfTEC’s six other Chicago-area locations are at the Golf Center Des Plaines, Highland Park, Naperville, Oakbrook, Schaumburg, and in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. GolfTEC has served some 10,000 customers since coming to the Chicago area in 1996.
