Golf Course architect Rees Jones is a giant in his chosen field, considered among the very best in the design business.
IF he were to ever change careers, however, he might consider golf prognostication. For the second consecutive year and third time in four years, Jones has won the Nike Golf ING Pick Your Pro Contest. And he bested his fellow International Network Of Golf members by a whopping margin.
The Nike Golf ING Pick Your Pro Contest, open to all ING members, requires contestants to choose a different player in each tournament on the PGA Tour schedule. The ballot is completed at the beginning of the PGA Tour season, and contestants can only use a player once. Contestants are credited in points equal to the amount of prize money his or her chosen player won in the event.
Jones finished with 7,414,529 points after choosing Vijay Singh in the PGA Tour Championship. He wins a complete set of Nike Golf clubs and golf bag. Runner-up was Terrie Demarchi of Lakeview Productions in Canada, who totaled 6,874,458 points. She will receive a set of Nike Golf woods. Third place prize of a set of Nike Golf irons goes to Mike Kern of the Philadelphia Daily News, who had 6,330,062 points. The top 15 finishers receive prizes from Nike Golf.
The International Network of Golf is a 17-year-old non-profit networking organization open to anyone in the golf industry or golf media.
