VINELAND, N.J. – Bill Nestor has been named Contributing Editor for GolfStyles New Jersey Magazine. In his new position for the award-winning publication – New Jersey’s #1 regional golf magazine – Nestor will play an active role in evaluating and directing editorial strategies, while also providing various news stories, features and analytical pieces for the magazine on a monthly basis. In addition, Nestor will work to enhance GolfStyles’ reputation in the Northeast market by representing the publication at various local and regional venues.

A resident of Brattleboro, Vermont, Nestor enjoys deep ties to New Jersey, specifically the Atlantic City area, where he was born and raised, and where his parents still reside. He is a graduate of Glassboro State College, B.A. in Education and Antioch New England Graduate School, M.S.T. Environmental Studies, with Post Graduate Studies in Natural History, Ornithology, Environmental Studies, and Environmental Education.
Most recently, Nestor served as a publishing consultant for, Waitsfield Vermont based, Divot Communications. During his time at Divot, Nestor worked closely with the president in developing editorial, marketing, and advertising strategies in his capacities as Vice President, Publisher, Associate Publisher & Editorial Director. He was instrumental in the streamlining of operations and organization of the company to foster growth and improve quality of staff, editorial, and presentation to further develop Divot’s regional golf lifestyle publications- New York Golf, Garden State Golf, Commonwealth Golf, Connecticut Golf, New Hampshire Golf, Vermont Golf, and The Best of Northeast Golf.
Since 1984, he has owned and operated Green River Associates, a publishing consulting firm, focusing on the development and implementation of advertising, marketing, and editorial for trade and consumer publications including: Golf Course Living (Golf Digest); Golf Business (NGCOA); Custom Builder, Solar Age, (Willows Publishing); Custom Builder, Build It Ultra, Luxury Kitchens & Baths, American Homestyle & Gardening ( New York Times, Gruner & Jhar, Miller Freeman).
Nestor has also enjoyed a successful academic and educator career as: Faculty member at Antioch New England Graduate School, Keene, NH and New England College, Henniker, NH; Director of New Hampshire Environmental Education Center, Windsor, NH; Executive Director of the Hitchcock Center, Amherst, MA; Teacher in the Millburn/Short Hills Public Schools, Millburn, NJ, and Attleboro Public Schools, Attleboro, MA.
In addition to contributing numerous articles for golf and other publications, he also authored a book, Into Winter: Discovering a Season (Houghton Mifflin).
