#1 Brand on Tour Takes 5 of Top 10 Spots as Many Players Choose Champ Brand
Marlborough, MA-November 7, 2006-CHAMP Spikes, the number one brand on tour, wound down the PGA season at the Tour Championship in a familiar spot, atop the leader board. CHAMP Spikes took 5 of the top 10 spots and roughly half the field of the top 27 sported CHAMP. This strong, season-ending showing comes on the heels of a successful season where CHAMP captured the "Grand Slam" and 27 total PGA Tour victories.
CHAMP Spikes were the spike of choice for several top players as nearly half of the 13 players wearing CHAMP, selected to switch their original spikes for CHAMP. However, none of the players whose shoes came with CHAMP as the original equipment opted out of the number one brand on tour.
"This is a telling statistic, choosing to switch to CHAMP speaks volumes," said Harris MacNeill, President of CHAMP Spikes. "These top golfers are choosing to change to CHAMP Spikes. They are not satisfied with the results from the spikes in their shoes, instead they are making a conscious decision to switch to CHAMP. As evident by our successful year, most top golfers believe CHAMP gives them a better chance to win."
With these victories, CHAMP now owns 27 of 40 PGA TOUR titles, 15 of 23 on the European Tour and 12 of 23 on the LPGA in 2006. CHAMP Spikes also captured the elusive PGA "Grand Slam," as CHAMP swept all four major tournaments.
