Twenty-Two EWGA Chapters Earn 2006 "Chapter of Excellence" Award

Achievements Recognized at Women’s Golf Association’s Annual Conference

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, November 9, 2006 – The Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) has recognized 22 chapters for achieving its prestigious "Chapter of Excellence" Award for 2006. The awards were presented in early November at the association’s annual conference held in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The Chapter of Excellence Awards program recognizes chapters that deliver the highest quality programs to its members and which have excelled in fulfilling the mission and purpose of the EWGA. The criteria are based on earning points in six categories including membership, golf education and player development, golf and social events, communications, leadership and sponsorship.

"Each of these chapters has demonstrated a yearlong commitment to building membership and providing exceptional service and programs for its members," says Pam Swensen, the CEO of the EWGA. "We salute their achievements and their outstanding performance in promoting the growth of women’s golf within their local communities. We invite all interested women to join us and discover the many personal and professional benefits of golf and the EWGA."

The 2006 Chapter of Excellence recipients are Austin, Texas; Boise-Treasure Valley, Idaho; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago Metro, Ill.; Dallas, Texas; Fox Cities/Green Bay, Wis.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Kansas City Metro; Las Vegas, Nev.; Long Island, N.Y.; Manatee, Fla.; Milwaukee, Wis.; Northern New Jersey; Omaha, Neb.; Orlando, Fla.; Greater Philadelphia, Pa.; Portland, Ore.; Quad-Cities, Iowa; Greater Richmond, VA; Seattle, Wash.; Tucson-Old Pueblo, Ariz.; and Westchester, N.Y.

EWGA chapters provide a wide range of golf, social and networking activities for both new and experienced golfers. There are currently 120 chapters throughout the United States and Canada.

Since the EWGA started in 1991, more than 80,000 women have benefited from membership in the organization which is dedicated to providing opportunities to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life.
