Golf is currently the fourth most popular sport in the Netherlands and the fastest growing. This growth is supported by fundamental trends like: changing social status, increased participation of young and elderly people and increased participation of women. Golf Management Group ("GMG") was incorporated in 2003 with the purpose to develop, acquire and operate golf courses with a focus on the strong growing group of ”pay & play” golfers. Together with strategic partners like ANWB, Grontmij, Fortis, and RP holidays (holiday resorts & parks) a number of GMG projects will be developed. In 2007 GMG will have six golf courses under operation including the acquisition of golf course Spaarnwoude, the biggest single golf operation in Europe (66 holes, 350.000 visitors per year).
