Harrison Shafts Finish Strong in 2006

PACOIMA, Calif. — Graphite shaft manufacturer Harrison Sports finished a highly successful PGA Tour season delivering top-ranked performance and the ultimate in driver accuracy. While, Harrison shafts took third-place at THE TOUR Championship this week, the winner of the 2006 PGA Driving Accuracy category finished the season hitting 78.43 percent of fairways with a Harrison Pro 2.5 shaft in his Cleveland driver.

In addition to leading the world in driving accuracy, Harrison had two players finish in Top 15 among the 2006 PGA TOUR Money Leaders.

"Harrison shafts are well-known for delivering dependable performance, and winning the Driving Accuracy category for the second straight year speaks volumes for the quality and reliability of our shafts," says Mike Cheng, president of Harrison Sports. "Harrison shafts have a long respected history of providing increased distance and greater accuracy. We’re very excited that some of the world’s greatest players are switching to Harrison."

One of Harrison’s big success stories on tour this year has been the Harrison Impulse Hybrid shaft which incorporates a patent-pending Inlay Titanium Matrix — a thin layer of titanium wrapped around the shaft’s tip section — to reduce shaft torque and to increase stability and accuracy. Hybrid-design clubs must often withstand greater stress at impact, so enhanced stability is a critical design factor for a shaft to resist distortion upon impact. In addition, Impulse shafts possess a lower balance point and produce a higher launch angle to make it easier to get the ball up into the air. The Impulse’s special hybrid design and advanced titanium layer deliver reliable performance shot after shot.

Impulse graphite shafts are available as a Fairway Wood or Utility Iron. The 75-gram Fairway Wood shaft has a 44-inch length and 3.5 degrees of torque. The 42-inch-long Utility Iron shaft weighs 85 grams and has a torque of 2.5 degrees.

All Harrison shafts are made from the finest in graphite, titanium and boron materials and they have secured their place among the Top Five of the most-used graphite shafts in the world. Harrison’s reputation for quality was first established among golf clubmakers and golf specialty shop owners whose needs for exacting specifications in custom fitting required uniform frequencies and manufacturing consistencies. As technologically superior as they are eye-catching, Harrison shafts met those needs and have become a popular and growing choice among professionals, clubmakers and golf enthusiasts.
