LAS VEGAS, NV – An audience of nearly 200 people from around the world were treated to a star-studded four days of education, exhibitions and golf instruction at the Harmon Brothers Teaching Summit, held last week at the Rio Suites Hotel.
The lineup of speakers included Butch Harmon, Bill Harmon, Craig Harmon, Jimmy Ballard, Scotty Cameron, Dr. Richard Coop, Tom Fazio, Jim Hardy, Luther Blacklock, Rick Martino and Robert Donatelli.
The Summit presented different teaching philosophies and techniques, some that could be considered "non traditional," "out-of-the-box" or even "radical" by many in the golf world. Also, fitness, equipment and golf course design were discussed.
And for three days, PGA teaching professionals interested in learning how to be better instructors, and amateurs interested in learning more about the golf swing and the business overall, listened and rubbed elbows with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
Even a couple of professional tour stars dropped in. Adam Scott who recently won the PGA Tour Championship, and Natalie Gulbis, a rising star on the LPGA Tour, are both students of Butch Harmon’s, and spoke to the attendees about their golf games and learning experiences.
Overall, the panelists at the Harmon Brothers teaching summit have collectively worked with over 100 well-known tour players in their teaching histories.
"The Summit proved to be just what we had hoped," said Butch Harmon. "There was tremendous exchange of information regarding techniques and theories. But there was also some casual conversation among the panelists and attendees, and some great Las Vegas-style fun. We are already looking forward to doing this again next year."
