Nickent Golf announces the signing of an unprecedented deal to become the exclusive sponsor of The Golf Channel’s Nationwide Tour coverage. The deal, announced yesterday on Golf Central, makes Nickent Golf the official OEM series sponsor of the Nationwide Tour. It is a groundbreaking deal that welcomes Nickent Golf to the upper echelon of golf television promotion.
"To us, this deal signifies how far we have come in the last few years," said Nickent CEO Michael Lee. "We have been growing very quickly because of our position as the King of Hybridsâ?¢, and our progression into a major player on the professional tours has made us a phenomenon. This deal makes a statement that we are here to stay, and that we truly are the fastest rising golf club manufacturer. We are proud and fortunate to have this opportunity."
That is just the start of the strategy Nickent Golf is implementing to help make this "fastest growing golf club company" into one of the most recognizable golf brands in the world. Nickent master designer and Senior Vice President John Hoeflich will introduce and close every Nationwide event on the air of The Golf Channel. Nickent will be involved in many of the aspects of the Nationwide Tour broadcast and will run a heavy commercial schedule based around the events, as well as other top Golf Channel programming.
The Golf Channel recently signed a unprecedented 15-year deal to bring the PGA Tour to their airwaves, a move that makes them the exclusive cable television home for the PGA Tour’s official money events beginning in 2007. The exclusive deal is not only unparalleled in golf, but also will make the 24-hour golf network the PGA Tour’s biggest television partner.
"We are very excited," said Nickent Director of Marketing Jon Claffey. "We had a three-year marketing plan going through 2006 that worked well beyond our expectations. To keep that buzz continuing with our target golfers, we knew we needed to find a way to take our brand to the next level. This is the start of a new three-year plan. Having the brunt of it be with The Golf Channel, with all of their growth and potential, and centered around what we consider our home, the Nationwide Tour, we feel we hit a major home run with this deal."
