Ask anyone in the golf industry and they will tell you that the future of golf is in the hands of junior golfers. That’s why two forces in junior golf are putting a joint effort togetherâ?”to help grow the game for the future.
Total Golf Adventures (TGA), the only national at-school, after school, golf enrichment program in the country, has become an Official Junior Golf Initiative of the National High School Golf Coaches Association (NHSGCA); it was announced jointly by both organizations.
"Both TGA and NHSGCA believe in golf as a vehicle to teach values such as integrity, teamwork and sportsmanship to young people," said NHSGCA Executive Director Michelle Pond. "We are excited to partner with TGA to reinforce this aspect of the game of golf."
"Working closely with NHSGCA is a perfect fit for our organization," added Joshua Jacobs, founder and CEO of TGA. "Both of our mission statements to introduce as many youngsters to the game of golf dovetail each other. We welcome the exposure that the high school coaches will give us. Since we are working with youngsters from K-8, we will be, in essence, providing NHSGCA a feeder system so they can help continue growing the game."
TGA’s mission is to provide America’s youth with access into the game of golf through programs that build life values, instill confidence through achievement and offer a fun and educational experience. The program is available to children in grades K-8. Total Golf Adventures (www.totalgolfadventures.com) currently has 32 national programs in 23 states. Since launching in the fall of 2004, TGA instructors have taught more than 25,000 children in over 600 schools.
Total Golf Adventures (www.totalgolfadventures.com) is endorsed and named as the official junior golf initiative by the Golf Range Association of America (GRAA); is a national supporting organization of the After School Alliance; and are a corporate advocate and partner of the President’s Challenge on Physical Fitness.
The NHSGCA (www.nhsgca.org) is a non-profit professional association for high school golf coaches. The mission of the association is to provide educational programs and services for high school golf coaches. The association also sponsors a national awards program for boys and girls high school golfers.
