PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (November 16, 2006) – A new service to enhance the instructional programs and enable golfers around the world to receive personal instruction from the Home of Golf is being launched at St. Andrews Links Golf Academy. Developed by eCoaching Technology, a state-of-the-art Web-based customer relationship management company, the system will enable the PGA Golf Management instructors to deliver analysis, instructional content, personalized coaching and instruction to golf students from all over the world as well as those visiting the academy.
"We are thrilled to be the technology engine for one of Europe’s leading golf academies," said Marc Matoza, CEO of eCoaching Technology. "Working with St. Andrews Links Golf Academy, where the instruction is delivered by PGA Golf Management, is a real testimony to our product. We look forward to continuing to develop the relationship and product."
The golf academy, open to golfers of all abilities from beginners to professionals, is part of an extension of the existing St. Andrews Links Golf Practice Centre, which originally opened in 1993. The practice center features 51 indoor and outdoor bays.
Steve North, Director of Instruction at St. Andrews Links Golf Academy, said, "There is such huge interest in St. Andrews that we wanted to find a way to deliver instruction and content to golfers around the world as well as those coming to the Academy. eCoaching Technology is a tool that we can use to deliver this service so that wherever you are in the world, whether you are in your office or on the practice range, you can use the services of an instructor at the Home of Golf. It enables us to provide one-to-one advice to our clients and build relationships with them to help us improve their games over a period of time."
The golf academy is run by St. Andrews Links Trust, which is a charitable organization responsible for the management and maintenance of the six public Links courses at St. Andrews, including the famous Old Course, host of the 2010 Open Championship.
PGA Golf Management is part of the commercial division of The PGA, offering management and marketing services to owners and developers of golf facilities. In addition to working with St. Andrews Links Trust, it has clients and projects in China, Crete, Cape Verde and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
