Proprietary Technical Fabrics Help Aussie Star Top Stellar Field
(Markham, Ontario) – Trend-setting performance apparel designer Ralph Dunning and his company, Dunning Golf, announce that staff player John Senden captured the 2006 Australian Open this past weekend at The Royal Sydney Golf Club.
Competing against a stellar field that included Adam Scott, Geoff Ogilvy, Stuart Appleby and Greg Norman, Senden closed with a course-record round of seven-under-par 65 to win by a single stroke.
The 35-year-old Brisbane native competed in Dunning Golf’s complete performance apparel system, including compression undergarments and the fully-waterproof Thermal Windpro Rainshield Vest during inclement early-round conditions. These pieces combined to provide Senden with ideal protection from the elements without excessive layering that can hinder swing motion. In warmer weather over the weekend, he premiered the classic look and superior performance of the Interface Stretch Line Polos from Dunning Golf’s Spring 2007 collection.
‘Winning your own national open is probably the biggest prize that you can have as a golfer, other than winning a major championship," says Senden. "I think that for anyone who wins a national open, it’s a feather in the cap, and then we can go to the next level from here."
This was the second win of the year for Senden, who also captured the John Deere Championship. A superb ball-striker who also recorded top-10s at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and FedEx St. Jude Classic, he finished the season ranked No. 45 on the PGA Tour money list.
"This has been a breakthrough year for John and he really put together one of the best rounds of his career on Sunday," says Dunning. "We’re glad our player-specific designs helped him perform his best in a variety of conditions while competing against such strong competition."
In addition to Senden, Dunning Golf’s elite PGA Tour staff includes Zach Johnson, Craig Barlow and Brian Gay, among others. All Dunning Golf pieces incorporate the company’s proprietary fabric technologies and feature golf-specific cuts for freedom of movement throughout all phases of the swing.
The only golf brand to exclusively use premium technical fabrics in each of its pieces, Dunning Golf’s Spring 2007 collection features compression undergarments, polos, mock necks, shorts, pants, pullovers, thermal tops, outerwear and rainwear. It includes performance characteristics such as increased airflow, moisture wicking, enhanced breath ability, UV protection and permanent moisture management.
Dunning Golf performance apparel is available at the finest on- and off-course shops throughout North America. The complete Spring 2007 collection retails from $35 for select undergarments to $199 for some outerwear. Shipping to retailers will commence January 2007 and conclude March 1.
