Free high-res images to be available to world’s media
Doha (QATAR): The official website of the 2007 Commercialbank Qatar Masters – scheduled to take place at Doha Golf Club from January 25-28 – has been launched by event officials.
The website – www.qatar-masters.com – has now gone online with a view to taking one of the PGA European Tour’s leading overseas tournaments to a truly global audience.
In addition to giving pre-tournament information regarding players, prize-money, event history and sponsorship opportunities, the website will also bring live action to browsers thanks to immediate news and score updates as well as exclusive, free high-resolution images of the leading players as they tackle the 7,374-yard Doha course.
"We are delighted to maintain the ongoing interest in the 2007 Commercialbank Qatar Masters with the activation of the new look website," said Commercialbank Qatar Masters Tournament Manager Chris Myers.
"It’s a very user-friendly site which we believe will appeal to golf fans across the world from America to Australia. And with golf enjoying a truly massive international appeal, we fully expect hundreds of thousands of visitors from every corner of the globe to log on to the Qatar Masters site."
As well as latest live scoring and hole-by-hole updates, the website will – for the first time – offer the world’s media access to free high-resolution images of tournament action.
Although many members of the PGA European Tour and Asian Tour media circus will jet into Doha for the second of three back-to-back events being staged in the Middle East, the majority of media outlets around the world will be unable to attend the tournament.
However, throughout the four days of play, the tournament will use the services of a seasoned tournament photographer to bring the action – and the players – to newspapers, magazine, wire services and web sites keen to follow play all the way to the crowning of the tenth Commercialbank Qatar Masters champion, a title currently held by Swedish Ryder Cup star Henrik Stenson.
The 2007 Commercialbank Qatar Masters will be staged from January 25-28, 2007 at the Doha Golf Club. Entries are currently being accepted and updates on the major stars confirmed for the event will be announced over the coming weeks.
