Altamonte Springs, FL – Rife’s new Island Series Barbados putter captured a two-shot victory in the MasterCard Masters at Huntingdale GC in Australia this past weekend. The winner fired 12 under par for the tournament, co-sanctioned with the Australasian Tour, and broke a title drought that dated back to the 2002 British Masters. One clutch putt after another under very tough conditions helped clinch his first victory in 4 years earning him the coveted "gold jacket" and a paycheck for $207,000. The Tour player ranks 5th on the European Tour Order of Merit and 47th on the PGA Tour’s Money List.
This victory moved him up an additional 18 spots in the World Rankings, which completes a move from 108th to 51st, in just nine events since making the switch to a Rife putter. In those last 9 events he’s had 1 Victory, 4 Top Tens and 8 Top 25 Finishes. "We at Rife Putters are all thrilled with the Champion of the MasterCard Masters performance" says President, Matt Molloy. "This caps an incredible year ending run for him and should give him an enormous amount of confidence going into 2007. He is undoubtedly one of the hottest players in the world right now and needless to say we are very excited the Barbados has been in his bag over the last three months."
Rife Barbados:
Like all putters from Rife the Barbados is Tour driven. Since its introduction three months ago this oversized mallet putter has found its way into the bag of two of the top 100 players on the PGA Tour whom have enjoyed immediate success. Guerin Rife has designed the Barbados to have a pleasing shape wrapped around a three line center cavity section creating a strong alignment aid. By moving the mass to the outer edges of the putter, the Barbados is extremely stable.
All of Rife’s Putters, the 2 Bar line, GR6 Series, and new Island Series putters, are high-end fully CNC milled putters that offer the patented RollGrooveTM Technology and patent pending Lie-Aline System.
About Rife Putters:
Rife Putters, LLC is the true innovator behind horizontal grooved face putter technology with a patent on specifically sized grooves since 1997. These precisely spaced grooves allow the putter to gently press into the cover of the ball and grip and lift it into an instant forward roll. Guerin Rife states, "just as grooves in irons help control spin so do grooves in a putter face." Other companies are now trying to imitate this patented technology but the spacing of the grooves is the true key to the gripping and lifting effect of grooved face putter technology. Horizontal RollGroove faced putters create the truest "no skid" roll in golf no matter where you hit the ball on the putter face.
