Defending National Champion, Oklahoma State, Among Impressive List of Premier College Programs Utilizing K-VEST Wireless Instructional System
Bedford, New Hampshire, December 4, 2006 â?¦ Bentley Kinetics, Inc., a leader in the field of wireless motion analysis, and manufacturer of the K-VEST instructional system, a first of its kind golf instructional system that utilizes wireless sensors to capture motion four times faster than a standard video system, today announced that five (5) premier NCAA Division I golf programs, including defending National Champion Oklahoma State, have integrated the K-VEST into their collegiate program.
In addition to Oklahoma State, powerhouse collegiate programs including Arizona State University, Florida State University, Boston College and the University of New Mexico, combining for 18 National Championships between them, have all incorporated the K-VEST instructional system.
The full instructional system consists of the K-VEST, the K-SYSTEMâ?¢ and K-WEBâ?¢, all components that provide instructors/coaches and their students with state-of-the art, cutting edge instructional technology, enabling instructors/coaches to capture and analyze the golf swing motion in 3-D, while providing immediate biofeedback to team members.
"I appreciate what Bentley Kinetics has taught us about making golf a lot simpler. Hopefully, this will reverse the trend of over teaching, over coaching and over thinking the game of golf," said Mike Holder, Athletic Director, and legendary golf coach, Oklahoma State University.
"It is rewarding to see several accomplished Division I collegiate programs adopt the K-VEST technology. I am confident that in the near future, our wireless 3D technology will be the standard for effectively analyzing and training collegiate golfers," said Michael Bentley, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Bentley Kinetics, Inc.
The K-VEST, which can be used indoors or outdoors, year-round, uses a video camera and 3 wireless sensors strategically placed on the golfer’s hip, shoulder and hand. These sensors communicate with Bentley’s proprietary KINESYNCâ?¢ software on a laptop to display live video and 3-D animation in the collection mode. The instructor/coach simply records a swing, and within seconds, the software generates a complete 3-D swing analysis allowing the instructor to quickly identify swing faults. The exercise mode is then used to provide real-time audio/visual feedback to optimize performance improvement.
The K-WEB component of the system is a complete online educational solution for those utilizing K-VEST technology, whereby the coach/instructor can easily upload 3D lesson information to Bentley’s website portal.
