31-Year-Old PGA Tour Rookie Caps Great 2006 with His First European Tour Win
CARLSBAD, Calif. (December 4, 2006) – Following the third round, Nathan Green stood in a tie for 39th place at the Blue Chip New Zealand Open at the Gulf Harbour Club in Whangaparaoa, New Zealand. Following a final-round 65 he stood alone in first place, having leap-frogged 38 players. The victory, by a margin of two shots, was his first on the European Tour and capped a terrific year for the 31-year-old PGA Tour rookie. A professional for seven years, the native of New South Wales, Australia made 24 of 30 PGA Tour cuts, posted five top-10 finishes, was runner-up at the Buick Invitational and won $1.7 million on the 2006 PGA Tour.
