Top Medalist Plays Adams Golf Hybrid
PLANO, TEXAS, December 5, 2006 – The Adams Golf (OTCBB:ADGO) Idea Pro hybrid was the #1 hybrid in play at last week’s PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament, according to the Darrell Survey. More than 36% of the total hybrids played in the event were from Adams Golf, the next closest competitor in the category accounted for only 14% of the hybrids.
"Since it’s one of the most open environments in pro golf, with less restrictive equipment contracts and sometimes no contracts at all, Q-School is one of the better events of the year to gauge player preferences in equipment," said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf CEO and President. "With the chance to play on the PGA TOUR its the most important event in these players’ lives, and having more of them trust our equipment over the others is the ultimate flattery."
The top medalist at the Qualifying Tournament played a 20-degree Idea hybrid. His five-stroke victory over the rest of the field was the largest margin since 1997. Nine of the 40 players who received their PGA TOUR card after the six round event played Adams Golf hybrids. This latest display of elite players choosing the Idea Pro ahead of the others comes on the heels of a tour season that saw Adams Golf claim the #1 hybrid on the combined equipment count of the PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours.
"We’ve seen a dramatic shift this year in how many tour players are setting up their bags with hybrids," Brewer added. "When a vast majority of the best players in the world play hybrids instead of their long irons, I think it sends a clear message to golfers of all abilities. Hybrids are the future and they will help improve your game."
