Orlando, Fla. – December 5, 2006 – Marriott Golf, the world’s largest resort golf management company, today announced that Andy Mitchell has been named Director of Golf at Grande Pines Golf Club in Orlando, one of the premier golf courses in Central Florida. In this position, Mitchell will be responsible for overseeing all golf operations at the 18-hole facility, which includes managing food & beverage operations, grounds operations, group outings business, sales & marketing initiatives, and more.
Mitchell comes to Grande Pines from The Frog Golf Club in Villa Rica, Georgia, where he most recently served as Head Golf Professional. His duties there included managing staffing, scheduling, merchandising, tournament operations and membership relations, among others. Prior to his time at The Frog, Mitchell served as Tournament Coordinator and Assistant Golf Professional at Westfields Golf Club in Clifton, VA, one of Marriott’s most renowned golf facilities on the east coast.
Originally from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Mitchell graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in Recreation and Parks Management, with an emphasis on Professional Golf Management.
