(Grand Rapids, MI) When the 19th Annual West Michigan Golf Show again rolls around on Feb. 9-11, 2007 in downtown Grand Rapids, thousands of golfers will be ready to escape the rigors of winter. Thanks to the support of this year’s sponsors, show patrons will find one of the most successful and well-regarded consumer golf shows in the Midwest.
"We’re so appreciative of our sponsors and how they contribute to making the West Michigan Golf Show such a success," said Carolyn Alt, Show Manager. "Sponsors allow us to offer more attractions, provide quality headliners, and to increase our donations to local charity." Sponsors announced so far for the 2007 Show are Lake Express, Srixon, Boyne USA, and the Golf Association of Michigan.
Returning as a sponsor, Lake Express is the popular cross-lake and high speed ferry service between Muskegon and Milwaukee. Savvy golf travelers on both sides of Lake Michigan are increasingly using Lake Express as part of their summer golf and vacation plans. As such, the West Michigan Golf Show is a valuable marketing and promotional opportunity for the Milwaukee-based company. For more information on Lake Express visit www.lake-express.com.
Thanks to Srixon, the first 100 people entering the Show each day will receive a free sleeve of Srixon’s Softfeel golf balls. Free Srixons will also be issued to those ordering their tickets on-line at www.westmichigangolfshow.com. For more information on Srixon, the ball used by Jim Furyk, and its line of products visit www.srixon.com.
And to drive that Srixon long and true this coming golf season, good instruction is always needed. Once again, Boyne USA will sponsor free golf lessons for show patrons this year. Boyne USA will staff the hitting net with a host of its PGA golf professionals and provide tips and mini-lessons during the show. Visit www.Boyne.com.
Another longtime sponsor of the Show is the Golf Association of Michigan (www.gam.org). Founded in 1919, the non-profit GAM is the governing body for amateur golf in the state. The GAM provides membership to more than 70,000 golfers and more than 400 golf courses; conducts 13 amateur championships; and oversees 14 USGA qualifying events.
Produced by ShowSpan Inc., the West Michigan Golf Show is held at the DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids. The show welcomes thousands of golfers each year to hundreds of exhibitors covering all facets of the golf industry—from courses and resorts to the latest in golf equipment and apparel. One of this year’s headliners is Technical Guru and consumer advisor Frank Thomas, former Technical Director of the USGA, and a leading authority on balls, clubheads and shafts.
Hours for the Show are 4:00 pm-9:00 pm, Friday; 10:00 am-7:00 pm, Saturday, and 10:00 am-5:00 pm, Sunday. Tickets are $8.50 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-14, and children 5 and under are free. Tickets will be available at the door as well as online at www.westmichigangolfshow.com. For more information, call 1-800-328-6550.
