Alliance with Nationwide Women’s Golf Association Also Benefits Girls Golf
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, December 13, 2006 – One of the finest names in classic Swiss watches, Lucien Piccard has become a corporate sponsor and the official timepiece for the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA). The relationship offers discounts on Lucien Piccard watches to EWGA members, with 10 percent of net proceeds from watch purchases through the EWGA website donated to LPGA-USGA Girls Golf.
The EWGA provides opportunities for women to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life. There are currently 120 chapters throughout the United States and Canada. One of the main charities supported by chapters and the EWGA Foundation is LPGA-USGA Girls Golf, a developmental junior golf program for girls ages 7 to 17 to build confidence and self-esteem through learning the game of golf.
Founded in Switzerland in 1923, Lucien Piccard is known for its exquisite, classic designed elegant timepieces which have adorned royalty, dignitaries and celebrities worldwide. The brand recently has been reintroduced in the United States, continuing its long tradition as the "affordable quality Swiss watch". See www.lucienpiccardusa.com
"We welcome Lucien Piccard as an EWGA corporate sponsor and the additional opportunity to support Girls Golf programs through this relationship," says Pam Swensen, the chief executive officer of the EWGA. "Our members appreciate the elegance, quality and value that Lucien Piccard offers and share their commitment to helping the future generation of women golfers."
Since it was started in 1991, EWGA has touched the lives of more than 80,000 women, offering a welcoming environment, golf education and organized play programs. EWGA chapters provide a wide range of golf, social and networking activities for both new and experienced golfers.
"As the official timepiece of the EWGA, Lucien Piccard can showcase the quality and craftsmanship of our beautiful watches to a highly targeted audience of affluent and influential women," says Alicia Press, vice president of LP Watch Group. "And we can expand the impact of our relationship by benefiting Girls Golf as well."
Through its chapters and the EWGA Foundation, the EWGA annually raises more than $500,000 for community and national charitable causes. Over the past six years, the organization has been the single largest contributor to LPGA-USGA Girls Golf, donating over $300,000.
The EWGA is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. For more information about the association and membership, visit www.ewga.com.
