Former Myrtle Beach Landmark, Sea Island Inn, Becomes Myrtle Beach’s Newest Luxury Resort
December 18, 2006, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Island Vista, Myrtle Beach’s newest luxury resort nestled in the heart of the Grand Strand’s Golden Mile, recently celebrated a grand opening. Offering more than 149 elegant oceanfront suites, a first class restaurant and an outdoor pool complex reminiscent of the Roman Aqueducts, the Island Vista is raising the bar for accommodations throughout Coastal South Carolina.
In 2004, the owners of the historic Sea Island Inn, a Myrtle Beach landmark for more than 25 years, decided to officially close their doors and make way for a larger more elegant resort property. Two years later, the square-foot, completely new Island Vista is being introduced to the Myrtle Beach community.
Dedicated to preserving the style and grace of the Sea Island Inn, the Island Vista’s elegant design features architecture reminiscent of Howard Mizner and his style crafted in South Florida in the 1930’s. Island Vista’s gourmet Low Country restaurant, The Cypress Room, is located off the hotel’s main lobby and features an array of European-infused Lowcountry dining selections including signature dishes such as pan seared pork chops with apple and cornbread stuffing, crispy fried oysters with roasted red pepper tarter sauce, bourbon creamed corn and sweet potato hash, and pecan-crusted trout with herbed butter noissette served over Basmati rice with wild mushroom ragout. Serving breakfast and dinner daily, The Cypress Room also features a full service bar providing alternate seating as well as a selective range of the finest wines, liqueurs, domestic and international beers and specialty cocktails.
The Resort’s pool complex features an indoor and outdoor pool area with a wide range of water amenities. The indoor facility opens to the outdoors during the summer months and is fully enclosed during the winter.
