HUNTINGTON BEACH, CAâ?¦Cleveland Golf is pleased to announce that tour
staffer Ken Duke has been named the 2006 Nationwide Tour Player of the Year
by the PGA TOUR.
Duke won the BMW Charity Pro-Am at the Cliffs for his first career win,
while finishing on top of the Nationwide Tour money list with total earnings of
$382,443 for the 2006 season. He also had nine top-10 finishes with 2nd place
finishes at the Palmetto Pride Classic and the Utah Energy Solutions
Championship. Duke, a native of Arkansas, played on the Nationwide Tour in 1995, 2003, 2005 and 2006. He spent the 2004
season on the PGA TOUR, where he had one top-10 finish at the Reno-Tahoe Open.
"Being selected by your peers as Player of the Year is the pinnacle and a great way to cap the season off", said Duke. "I
can’t wait for the season to begin because I have so much more confidence now."
Duke will be awarded the Jack Nicklaus Trophy in recognition of his achievement and will be fully exempt on the PGA
TOUR for the 2007 season. Duke will also be invited to THE PLAYERS Championship due to his leading money winner status on
the Nationwide Tour.
