Bellaire, Mich., (January 2, 2007) -Shanty Creek Resort & Club has appointed Brian Kautz as the new Director of Golf and Club Operations. Brian will oversee the entire golf operations and private club operations for Shanty Creek.
Kautz already brings a wealth of knowledge about Shanty Creek Resort and northern Michigan as he most recently served as Director of Club Rental and Property Management for Shanty Creek during the past three seasons.
Kautz, a Class A PGA member since 1983, began his work in the golf business in Columbus, Indiana during the late 1970’s where he served under PGA Master Professional Tony Clecak. His experience into golf sales started with Pro-Group, Arnold Palmer’s golf company, which brought Kautz to Forida. In the late 1980’s, he left sales for golf management. In Fort Myers, Florida at the Estero Country Club (formerly known as The Vines), he took on Director of Golf duties and saw the club through complete club and course renovations. Prior to coming to Shanty Creek, Kautz was the General Manager at the Charlevoix Country Club in Charlevoix, Michigan.
When asked about his new role at Shanty Creek, Kautz replied, "What the new ownership and management bring to the Resort is exciting. This is a great time to be part of Shanty Creek.
