Prior to joining EWGA headquarters staff, Jennings was an assistant golf professional at Barton Hills Country Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is a PGA Apprentice, Level 3 and graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University, where she played on the golf team and was named to the 1999 and 2000 National Golf Coaches Association, Division I All-Scholar Team. "We welcome Stephanie’s enthusiasm and her strong communications and organizational skills," says Pam Swensen, Chief Executive Officer of the EWGA. "The Championship Series is one of our premier programs. With her leadership and our very dedicated volunteers, we anticipate that participation will continue to grow in the coming year."
Since the EWGA started in 1991, more than 80,000 women have benefited from membership in the organization which is dedicated to providing opportunities to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf for business and for life. There are currently 120 chapters throughout the United States and Canada. The chapters provide a wide range of golf, social and networking activities for both new and experienced golfers.
The EWGA Championship begins at the chapter level with individual stoke play competition in five flights based on USGA handicaps and an inter-chapter scramble team competition. Low gross and low net winners in each flight and the winning scramble team then compete in one of 15 semi-final competitions held throughout the United States. Semi-final winners will compete in the 36-hole championship to be held at The Hermitage Golf Course in Nashville, Tennessee on September 7 – 8, 2007.
